Seiki’s are stunning tv’s indeed.

Let me start out by saying I bought this tv from HHGREGG for $449 after they matched wal mart price.
This is a great PC monitor and very average TV.
since my purchase was for a monitor i’m going to review as such.
Let me start by saying 4k is stunning when you can find content that has it….I downloaded some lg demos of the net and was blown away by seiki tv reviews.
As a pc monitor you will have to do a lil tinkering to get it right for all resolutions you want to view. I like to game so 30hz is only good for games like assassins creed and sim city types where frames are not a big deal. For shooters you will have to drop to 2560 x 1440p which is not in a native resolution on tv. To do this you will have to download CRU(custom resolution utility)by toasty x. Another note i’d like to point out is that the coloring is very drastic from 4k to lower resolutions…To offset these washed out colors go to your video card settings and adjust the saturation accordingly.
Resolutions I have been successful with are
3840×2160@30hz native to tv games that play play awesome detail is amazing
2560x1440p@74hz ran blurry test and was true to settings (remember to adjust saturation accordingly)
1920x1080p@120hz ran blurry test and was true to settings(have to use cru to get this setting)also adjust saturation accordingly
all other resolutions are not worth your time in my opinion. You will see alot of forums of people trying others like 3800×2000 and so forth but really becomes a pain in the ass.
For the price you basically get a huge 2560x1440p monitor @74hz for gaming or 1920x1080p 120hz with 4k capability for movies when they finally become available. For me that is an absolute steal at this price. compare with 1440p monitors and 4k monitors $250-$2000 for 23inches to 28 inches
I give it 5 stars based on value alone and great picture once calibrated
Feel free to ask questions I would be happy to try and assist anyone.
